The fashionable Double Scottish Rose, first propagated in Scotland in the 1780s, was a great source of pride to the people of Scotland. It was soon adopted by Scottish stonemasons as an important motif in the decoration of the White House. They carved Scottish Roses into the garland above the North Door, on the pilasters, and at the tops of the portico columns. These sterling silver cuff links feature a Scottish Rose, which measures 5/8" in diameter.
