Additional Information
On February 23, 1961, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy launched the most celebrated redecoration of the White House in its history. Within a year, a committee was formed, a law passed, donations sought, and a museum-quality collection of the fine period furnishings that would belong to the nation was born. Today, Mrs. Kennedy's work continues through the White House Historical Association, the private nonprofit that she founded on November 3, 1961. The Association is pleased to celebrate its sixtieth anniversary with this special Anniversary Collection, featuring the North Portico, produced exclusively for the White House Historical Association by Halcyon Days.
