Additional Information
Produced exclusively for The White House Historical Association by Halcyon Days, the Lincoln Collection is inspired by President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln's White House china service. The porcelain dinner, breakfast, dessert, and tea service was purchased for the White House by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln during an 1861 shopping trip to the E. V. Haughwout & Co. department store in New York City. The itemized bill included with Mrs. Lincoln’s new china includes the following description of her purchase, “One fine Porcelain Dining Service . . . decorated Royal purple, and double gilt, with the Arms of the United States, on each piece.” The beautiful state service, which originally included 190 pieces, was reordered during the presidencies of Ulysses S. Grant and Chester A. Arthur and examples are kept on display in the White House China Room today. Elegantly presented as a boxed set you can pass down for generations, this tea set includes 1 - 6 cup tea pot and 2 - tea cup and saucers.
This fine bone china tea set is made in Stoke-on-Trent, the traditional heart of the English pottery industry. With a team of master craftsmen and women, we continue to produce the very best fine bone china, using traditional methods passed down through generations. Each piece is hand decorated and finished with liquid 22ct gold, using the finest of brushes. Given the hand-made nature of these pieces, every piece is unique.
