Additional Information
This wine box is contructed from walnut and aluminum, with an engraving of the North Portico of the White House on the top. The White House is the official residence and workplace of the Presidents of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., in Washington, D.C., and has been the residence of every U.S. President since John Adams in 1800. Designed by architect James Hoban more than two hundred years ago, George Washington selected its location, although he is the only President never to live there. Thomas Jefferson updates many of its features for convenience; James Madison and James Monroe rebuilt it after it was burned in the War of 1812; Theodore Roosevelt restored and remodeled it for more efficient use; and Harry Truman renovated it with modern features hoping to preserve it forever.
