Additional Information
This eagle design is taken from a set of stemware ordered in 1945 for the presidential yacht, USS Williamsburg. Created by Steuben Glass in Corning, New York, this was the last set of eagle-adorned glasses made for the White House. The central eagle, holding arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right, is encircled by eight stars. The stemware set for the yacht contained stylized glasses for champagne, white wine, cordials, old-fashioneds, cocktails, highballs, and pilsner, as well as bar accessories such as jiggers, decanters, and cocktail shakers, all adorned with this eagle insignia.
