Product description
This purple Amethyst stone necklace is 18-inch in length and is accented with stunning genuine pearls that seem to dance along the neckline. The gold accents elevate this piece to an instant classic, much like the Lincoln Presidential China itself. Length is adjustable for an additional 2-inches length for best fit to compliment any look. Lobster clasp closure.
This necklace is a part of our jewelry collection inspired by President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln's White House china service. The porcelain dinner, breakfast, dessert, and tea service was purchased for the White House by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln during an 1861 shopping trip to the E. V. Haughwout & Co. department store in New York City. The itemized bill included with Mrs. Lincoln’s new china includes the following description of her purchase, “One fine Porcelain Dining Service . . . decorated Royal purple, and double gilt, with the Arms of the United States, on each piece.” The beautiful state service, which originally included 190 pieces, was reordered during the presidencies of Ulysses S. Grant and Chester A. Arthur and examples are kept on display in the White House China Room today.
