Product description
Produced exclusively for The White House Historical Association by Halcyon Days, the Lincoln Collection is inspired by President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln's White House china service. The porcelain dinner, breakfast, dessert, and tea service was purchased for the White House by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln during an 1861 shopping trip to the E. V. Haughwout & Co. department store in New York City. The itemized bill included with Mrs. Lincoln’s new china includes the following description of her purchase, “One fine Porcelain Dining Service . . . decorated Royal purple, and double gilt, with the Arms of the United States, on each piece.” The beautiful state service, which originally included 190 pieces, was reordered during the presidencies of Ulysses S. Grant and Chester A. Arthur and examples are kept on display in the White House China Room today. This elegant 6-cup tea pot ships in a beautiful giftbox and includes a descriptive insert about the collection. Suitable for making your perfect pot of tea or decorative display. Handwash only.
Halcyon Days takes great pride in delivering exceptionally made products, demonstrating the very best of English craftsmanship. This teapot showcases the skill of their artisans, based in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the English pottery industry. Each piece is hand decorated and finished with liquid 22ct gold, using the finest of brushes.
