Product description

This piece is exclusively designed for the White House Historical Association, and features cloisonné beads with cherry blossom inspired art. This piece exemplifies the timeless art of cloisonné, an ancient decorative technique refined over centuries. Artisans carefully construct delicate metal compartments, then hand-fill each section with vibrant colored enamel, creating intricate designs with remarkable depth. The meticulous process results in a stunning, durable work of craftsmanship that becomes a cherished heirloom.

First Lady Helen Herron Taft dreamed of planting cherry trees along the Tidal Basin, just south of the White House, and in 1912 her wish was realized with a gift of thousands of trees from Japan. Now more than 100 years old, the mature blossoms are celebrated each spring with a festival and parade in Washington, D.C.

Wash with mild soap, dry with soft cloth. Choking hazard - keep away from small children.
