During the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in August 2026, IndyCar machines scream through a temporary 1.7 mile, seven-turn street circuit on the National Mall, weaving among the monuments and around the enduring icons of the republic. Framed by the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the U.S. Capitol, this event celebrates America’s 250th birthday with world-class open-wheel racing. The White House Historical Association embraces this occasion in partnership with the legendary AJ Foyt Racing Team and driver Santino Ferrucci during race week. Together they represent the blend of deep tradition, engineering brilliance, and bold daring that has long connected the presidency with the world of speed.

Founded in 1961 by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, the White House Historical Association is the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization entrusted with preserving and sharing the history of the White House.
