Additional Information
The presidents and first ladies of the United States of America have always been a popular subject for American artists. Their official portraits line the walls of the White House, reminding all of their extraordinary lives.
Professor John Hutton, the author and illustrator of many award-winning children’s books, says “Anyone can learn to draw!” And he created this book to teach children of all ages how to make their own great drawings of all of the presidents and first ladies of the United States—from President and Mrs. George Washington to President and Mrs. Donald Trump. His step-by-step process is easy and fun to follow.
John Hutton was educated at Princeton, Harvard, and the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London. He has taught art history at Salem College for more than thirty years. For the White House Historical Association, he has illustrated the presidents for our popular children's book series; How to Draw the Presidents; and The White House Easter Egg Roll: A History for All Ages.
